Royal Navy Pilots Get New Training Facility

The Royal Navy have invested £44m into a new hi tech gravity trainer for its fast jet pilots.

The new simulator based at RAF Cranwell allows pilots to experience the effects of extreme G-force, but whilst also allowing them to still fly.  In the past training has been basically just a test of the ability the pilots have to not pass out when exposed to extreme G-force out of their control.  The new installation is equipped with the cockpits of F35 and Hawk jets to give realism to the training.  The pilots will now be able to test out a variety of scenarios which they may face in combat and push themselves to the limit rather than the controlled equipment administering the G-force upon them.

Given the extreme pressure put on pilots during missions this equipment will be vital in the future training of all Royal Navy fast jet operators.
